Things Are Not Getting Worse, They Are Getting Uncovered

Crime has been falling since the 1980s but it doesn’t look that way in the media. Corporate media cannot sell advertising if there is no sensationalism to hook readers in. What better hook to use than fear? Corporate media wants us addicted and hanging on to every word and narrative corporate media has to say. There is proof that social media use releases dopamine and has refined tactics that gets its users to habitually use online media platforms.

The Internet came along and at some point, corporate media no longer controlled the flow of informatin. When modern social media came along as we know it today giants like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram began to steer popular conversations. Unsavory political topics began to subversively be put on the social media back burner so that they were in shadow banned and some were just outright deleted. Even if they weren’t deleted being shadow banned means that no one is going to see it.

Thousands or even millions of bots created an echo chamber within social media and it makes it seem that everything shared in mainstream media being reaffirmed by masses of people. It’s more like the opinion and directive of the social media platforms and those that control it instead of the masses. At some point, more and more of the masses began to believe more in this artificial sentiment. More and more of them, but not all of them.

There are still enough platforms on the Internet that lets the flow of information disperse among the population. This leaking dispersion that can’t be controlled is how we find out about backdoor political deals, insider trading with politicians, and Big Corporate disasters. As more of these grievous occurrences make secondary social media or inundate Big Tech so fast they can’ the controlled we learn more and more about the stupidity and uncaring people that run and control our society. Cities like Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco that are feces filled death camps for homeless opioid addicts are coming to light more and more nationally. If Senators, Members of Congress, Governors, Mayors, and City Leaders can let this level of decay openly happen in our society what are they doing out of sight?

Society has been moving from crisis to crisis for a long time but not as well as modern social media can do it. We are seeing more and more of what has been happening for a long time as avenues to share this information become more visible. It can be overwhelming. Sometimes we just need to unplug from social media and go do something outside. Nature is beautiful and there’s plenty of it to see for now.

It used to be only the old grumpy people that read the newspaper every day were transformed into sour angry hateful people. Now everyone has turned into that grumpy old man yelling “get off the grass”.
