Should You Really Reply With An Answer Those Facebook Question Posts?

We have all seen the Facebook posts asking stupid questions. Maybe it was Find Your Wrestling Name by using your birthdate for a list of silly names. Or Your Personality Is This using your birthdate. It’s all an information gathering ploy to hack your accounts.

Often their questions are like “What was your first car?”

“Who is your favorite teacher?”

“What are your credit card numbers and secret codes?”

I made up that last one here but that’s what they’re getting at. The more someone knows about you the more likely they are to be able to hack your account or use your information to scam you. Other similar questions are seemingly innocent and fun. Time period questions asking if you remember a certain restaurant from the 1950s, 60s, or 70s? What is your favorite pets name?

Some may be worded a little less direct like what were you driving the first time you were speeding? All these questions are security questions to things like your banking account online.

Other questionairres on faceboook may use your birthday and year and the day to tell you what your wrestling name is. These can be very costly to answer on Facebook because scammers are phishing for your information.

Scammers can get anage range and choose to target older people because they know many older people are less skilled at detecting phishing scams and fraud emails. A lot of personal information can be gathered by doing a simple search through Facebook manually not to think of what bots can gather for your personal information.

So they know your birthdate, they know your location, your email, they know your pets name, and they know what your first car was? Big deal right? It is a big deal because with this information scammers and hackers can get around some security questions like what your bank uses.

It’s best to avoid answering these silly questions because it isn’t for fun. It most likely is an offshore Facebook account trying to scam you or hack your accounts.
